Welcome to the Saintly Courier, a Catholic snail mail liturgical living monthly subscription club. (Say that ten times fast…)
The “monthly subscription club” part should be pretty easy; when you subscribe, I’ll send you a letter every month! “Snail mail” means I’m going to send you a physical letter through the U.S. Postal Service to arrive in your mailbox and give you a frisson of excitement to discover who we are featuring next. And “Catholic liturgical living” means that we focus on celebrating Catholic saints and feast days in our homes, with our friends, and in our communities, all throughout the year.

The Saintly Courier is purposefully a slow, deliberate option for learning about new saints and creative ways to incorporate our Catholic faith into our (very busy) daily lives. We are so often rushed and harried that each month’s letter is specifically intended to help you slow down, sit with a cup of tea (or coffee, depending on how much caffeine you need that day…) and enjoy it, almost like a chat with a friend. It has the added bonus of mini-party-planning to celebrate our saints, and of extra prayers for you each month!
Meet Carah Tabar

I was inspired to start The Saintly Courier as a way to merge my three lifelong passions: calligraphy, happy mail, and celebrating patron saints and Catholic feast days. God led me to jump off the big cliff of starting this business so I could share these gifts with others all around the country and the world. (Also, I think my friends were very generous in suggesting that this would be a good use of my free time…)
I am a Catholic homeschooling mom of 8 kids, a calligrapher, a runner, and a former librarian. I discovered the concept of really incorporating feast days into our daily lives when I first started teaching my kids about our faith. I love that by focusing on saints and liturgical feast days we get to meet so many amazing, inspiring (and sometimes intimidating!) men and women who give us fantastic examples of unbounded love for God. I also love being creative with how to celebrate those days– daily Mass is the best, but sometimes kids remember a donut Rosary even better… (Oct. 7, Our Lady of the Rosary, just wait til that Courier comes out! I will apologize in advance, but I’m not really sorry.) 😉
Since my brain needs to have a creative outlet to offset the rigors of daily life and motherhood, The Saintly Courier is my excuse to get out my calligraphy supplies each month and send along a quote, prayer, or inspirational verse for you. I think a tactile card helps me to remember to take a minute to think, pray, and be grateful; hopefully you will find them inspiring too!
